MANILA, Philippines – A new judge from the Quezon City-Regional Trial Court (QC-RTC) has been named to handle the criminal cases in connection with the use of the Dengvaxia vaccine, prompting the resumption of the hearing this September.
In a one-page order, a copy of which was obtained by The Manila Times, Judge Michael Ken De Jesus, of Branch 102, a family court, set the hearing at 8:30 a.m on Sept. 16, 2025.
While setting the schedule of the trial involving 35 Dengvaxia criminal cases, De Jesus in the same order said he was currently conducting an inventory of the cases., This news data comes from:http://akbpbvgo.jyxingfa.com
New judge to handle Dengvaxia cases named; hearing set
Before De Jesus, Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villavert, of the same branch, was the judge in the case. It was, however, not known immediately why a new judge was named in her place.
Former Department of Health secretary and now Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin is the principal accused in the reckless imprudence resulting in homicide case filed by parents and relatives of over a hundred schoolchildren whose "untimely" deaths were linked to the vaccine.
